The performance of dewatering press is enhanced by removing clogging which could considerably block the discharge of filtrated liquid.
Volute dewatering screw press is equipped with unique Volute technology, which allows dewatering while automatically cleaning the filter-mesh.
This enables stable and constant dewatering without depending on flush water for clogging prevention.
Structure:
Layers of spacers and rings (fixed and moving) construct a cylinder. Moving rings, which are slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the screw and slightly narrower than the spacers, are located between the fixed rings and are moved by the screw.
Moving rings continuously clean sludge out of the gaps and prevent clogging.
Process Flow:
Sludge in the sludge storage tank flows by sludge feed pump.
Sludge sent to a flow control tank is measured by a gauge
Measured sludge is sent to flocculation tank and the excessive amount goes into an overflow pipe (Water level adjuster).
Polymer is added in the flocculation tank for chemical reaction.
Sludge flows into the Volute cylinder(s) after flocks are being made by chemical reaction between sludge and polymer.
The flocks are thickened in thickening zone by gravity before transported to dewatering zone.
Gaps between moving rings and fixed rings are smaller in the dewatering zone, and sludge turns into sludge cake by the pressure applied by the end plate and are discharged.
